About this app
Shofol Counter is published by Appifly BD Ltd. ("Appifly", "we"). It is used by cashiers and till staff of companies that run their business on Shofol.
You cannot sign up in the app. Your account is created by your employer in their Shofol admin panel, which links the app to the employee record they already hold for you. Your employer decides which register and warehouse you can open a shift on, and which payment methods the till offers.
What we collect
The app collects only what the features below need. There is no advertising, no analytics tracking and no crash-reporting SDK in the app.
| Data | What exactly | Why | Required? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sign-in details | Your work email and password when you sign in. The app keeps a session token afterwards, not your password. | To show you your employer's till and nobody else's. | Always |
| Shift record | The register you open, the time you open and close a shift, the opening float and the amount you count at close. | Nothing can be sold without an open drawer, and the count reconciles it at the end. | Always |
| Barcode scans | The code read by the camera when you scan an item at checkout. | To find the product and its price. | Always |
| Sales | What was sold, the quantity and price, the payment method, and the amount tendered and change given. | This is the app's purpose: recording the sale. | Always |
| Customer name and phone | For a sale attached to a customer, or a new walk-in customer you add — a name, and a phone number if you enter one. | To attach the sale to the right customer, and to print their name on the receipt. | When a sale names a customer |
| App version | The installed version of the app. | To offer an update when a newer build is available. | Always |
The app does not read your contacts, calendar, messages or files, does not use your location, and does not collect device identifiers for advertising. It does not process card payments and never sees a customer's card or mobile-wallet number — a payment method is recorded as a label ("Cash", "Card", "bKash") chosen by the cashier, not captured by the app.
Device permissions
Each permission the app asks for maps to one feature, and you can decline it. What you lose is only that feature.
| Permission | Used for | If you decline |
|---|---|---|
| Camera | Reading the barcode on what you are selling. | You can search for the item by name instead of scanning it. |
| Internet | Talking to your employer's Shofol server. | Not optional — the app has no offline mode. |
Camera and the barcode scanner
- The camera opens only when you tap Scan, never on launch and never in the background. It closes as soon as a barcode is read.
- A barcode is read locally on the phone and only the resulting code — a string of digits, not an image — is sent to the server.
- On a handheld with a built-in laser scanner, the device types the code the same way a keyboard would; the app never opens the camera on that hardware.
- The app does not take photos, does not record video, and this app has no photo-library permission.
The receipt printer
On a Sunmi handheld, receipts print through the printer built into the device itself, using the manufacturer's own SDK. There is no pairing, no Bluetooth permission and nothing to choose — the app checks whether that printer is present and, if it is not (any other phone, and iOS), simply does not offer to print. No receipt data leaves the device through the printer; it is drawn from the sale already recorded on the server.
Storage and transfer
- Everything the app sends goes over HTTPS to your employer's Shofol server, operated by Appifly at
accountra.appiflybd.com. - On your phone, the app keeps your session token in the operating system's secure storage (Keychain on iOS, Keystore-backed storage on Android). It does not store your password.
- Products, prices and customer records are fetched when you open a screen and are not written to the phone's storage, other than the product photos cached on disk so the catalogue loads without re-downloading every picture.
How long we keep it
Sales, shifts and customer records are your employer's business records. They are kept for as long as your employer's policy and the law require. Appifly deletes a company's data when that company ends its subscription and the contractual retention period has passed.
Session tokens expire and are replaced on each sign-in.
Your rights and account deletion
You can see the sales and shifts your permissions allow at any time in the app. To correct a record, or to ask what is held about you, contact your employer — they own the record and can change it.
Deleting your account
Because your account is part of your employer's Shofol system, it is closed by your employer, normally when your employment ends. Ask them to deactivate your Shofol access. If you would rather ask us directly, email info@appiflybd.com from your work address with the subject "Counter account deletion"; we will confirm the request with your employer and act on it within 30 days. Signing out of the app removes the session from your device immediately.
Children
This app is for employees and is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
When we change what the app collects or how it is used, we update this page and the effective date at the top. Where a change is significant, the app tells you the next time you open it.
